Branding Your Authentic Self

A Personal Mission Statement Course for Mid-Career Professionals

You've built a career. On paper, it works. But somewhere along the way, the version of you that shows up to work stopped feeling like the whole story. Most people reach mid-career without ever being asked the most important question: Who are you, really — not your title, not your resume, not the version of yourself you perform for others.

That's what this course is about.

What this course is

In a world that constantly tells you who to be, this course helps you remember who you already are.

Branding Your Authentic Self is a 12-week online self-discovery course built for people who are established in their careers but feel disconnected from the work itself. It uses journaling, mindfulness, and diverse interactive art modalities to help you reconnect with who you are — and craft an authentic personal mission statement that reflects it.

This is not a marketing course, and it is not therapy. It is a creative, educational, reflective process that takes the subject of your life seriously — because you are worth that kind of attention.

You will leave with a personal mission statement that is genuinely yours: rooted in your values, shaped by your experiences, and clear enough to guide every major decision you make going forward.

What you will explore

Through a series of structured exercises, creative prompts, and reflective practices, you will:

Develop personal clarity — understand what you value, what energizes you, and what you are here to do

Find your passion — move past what you think you should want and discover what genuinely moves you

Articulate your identity — learn to express who you are with confidence, precision, and authenticity

Write your mission statement — craft a succinct, powerful statement of purpose that captures your authentic self and guides your creative and professional path

Embrace productive confusion — some exercises are intentionally open-ended. Noticing where you expand and contract, where you feel inspired or frustrated, is part of the process. Those reactions are messages. This course teaches you to read them.

Who this course is for

This course is built for mid-career professionals who feel successful on paper but disconnected from their work — the ones who suspect they've been living someone else's idea of their life and want to find their way back to meaning.

It's a fit if you:

Have real career experience behind you, but no longer feel like your work reflects who you are

Are weighing a change — a new role, a new direction, or a return to something you set aside — and want clarity before you move

Have tried the usual career-advice playbook and found it addressed your resume but not your sense of purpose

No artistic background or prior experience required. The only prerequisite is a genuine willingness to look inward.

What people say

"This course was truly transformative for me because it was not just about branding — it was an unexpected journey of self-discovery. I still have a journal that was a semester-long self-reflection project. The lessons from that course continue to influence me to this day." — Ciara F., Communications Specialist in Student Affairs, former Towson University student

"This course became a safe and therapeutic space for me as I navigated a busy schedule. It never felt like school or homework — it helped me relieve anxiety while exploring my identity and who I am as a person. Overall, this process helped me grow immensely in my relationships with others and with myself." — Meara Kuriny
